shortcut about my work in zürich
at the moment i´m working in zürich.
it feels like hell.
in 10 day is opening night, and i´m still
struggeling through a piece of theater
trying hard to find out what the hell
i´m going to do on stage.
my director doesn´t really know what she
wants, or let`s say , she thinks she knows
but i really don´t get it.
so the only way for me is to get a clear idea
about what i do and to try to make myself
indipendent!!!
i`m far from home and i feel alone.
zürich is a rich and expensive city.
going out is not realy fun because
every glass of wine is so fucking expensive
that you don´t want to get drunk anymore.
at the same time the city of zürich fired
his theater director, because they say
hi is spending to much money!!
hi is a unconventional and very creative
and inspirying man, and one of the best
zürich ever had. what does that mean
when one of the richest citys in europ
does not want to pay anymore for
theater experiments!!!!!

Hello Miriam! - 05/09/2002, rockerbraut6@compuserve.de Hey Miriam!
I went to Zürich once to visit some friends who were playing in "Grease" there. We had played that show in Vienna together, so when they went off to do the tour, I went to visit them and I can only remember loving the Sprüngli chocolate shop (it´s very famous) and how fucking clean the place was!Not my kind of city at all.I just had a Caryl Churchill experience here in Berlin. It was the first time I´ve ever acted in English, although it´s my mother tongue, so doing "Top Girls" was a blast just to be able to hang out with a few fellow Brits and a couple of Kiwis and a Dubliner!Clarity and independance sounds like a very good way out of the "dodgy director" trap. Are you going to be in Hamburg when Lubricat comes to play "Boombar" at the end of the month for 3 shows?
It would be very nice to see you again. I am also so excited about coming to Hamburg. I´ve always wanted to go there, since I was a huge Beatles fan and have totally romantacised what it must have been like in the late 50´s and early 60´s with all those bands playing all night long in those bars on the Raeperbahn.I just hope that being a port I don´t run into too much fish (living or dead).I have a wee phobia about the "F" word! Ah well...it´s past my bedtime! Sleep well Barbara
