One of my best friends, the actor Armin Dallapiccola, alias Jörg Baumann, cofounder of the theatre company Lubricat, get brutal murdered through a attack with a knife by four female inmates of the prison Reutlitz. His dead body was dropped on a rubbish deposit.
After two years being the bad guy (main character) in the most famous weekly soap “Behind Bars” (Hinter Gittern) on German TV he got what he deserved while 5.500.000 people watching.
He was a really bad guy in these soap, murdered, raped several inmates even the other main character a lesbian inmate, beloved by all the TV watchers - he coursed abortion, blackmailed inmates and colleagues, betrayed his wife and so on...
We worked together more then ten years on theatre projects before he jumped into the TV-business. That changed a lot. As a freelance theatre actor he could hardly survive, but now he lives in a nice loft, has a car, get invitations to all the important media events in Berlin, like a model contest in the Russian embassy or to opening night of a new musical.
Before he got brilliant critics in the papers like being “on of the best actors in the Berlin Scene”. Now, every were in public he get asked “Is it really you?” and media-randy fans going for a autograph even on dirty Mc Donalds table napkin.
But of course he is still a brilliant actor.

dirk when i first red the headline of your article,
it felt like my heart stopped beating for a moment.
you really scared me. for a second i believed you.
thanks god it happend only in TV.
armin is one of the best actors i ever worked with.
and when i first met him in 1989 he introduced me
to you and your work and i´m thankful not only for
that.
i learned a lot from him, on stage and in real life.
