Gertrude Sein, Gertrude Stein, Gertrude Stein
Yesterday I got a call from a gentleman, John. He had come to my staged reading of Gertrude Stein at the Firehouse Theatre. (May 13th, 2003) It has been a little over a month since the reading. well, he wanted to know if it would be produced fully- I said, "no plans as of yet." John hopes that it will and that he has an article to send me about Gertrude Sein and Alice B. So I gave him my address so he could send it. And again he expressed how much he enjoyed my reading and hopes I will make it into a full production. And I said I hope so too. God!!!!! I need "to get on the stick!!"
I can't blame the heat because just yesterday Richmond has come into it's full heat of summer. 95 and humid. My sister Bronwyn discribed Richmond's heat perfectly many years ago. "It's like sitting just outside the breath of a big dog." Nice? Huh?
No... I must confess, I have been ill. June 16th I had a surgery that didn't work- DAMN! And now I must give up my uterus. DAMN~! July 14th Bastille Day in France- the day they stormed and destoryed the prison! So, I will take as good omen. Because my uterus has imprisoned me over the last couple of months and my Doctor- Montica Powers says I will be set free!!!!!!!!!! after I recover. The point is I have shyed away from work. But, I can still perpare for future work- like doing a production of Gertrude Stein.
But, today I will stay inside (dog breath remember) and write and smile at my cat Sunshine who is 1 year old today.
And perapre art for Greig's studio sale this weekend- oh, yeah.
