I am proud to live where I live!
Last sunday we had elections for the national government of Germany. You an vote for a person from your neigbourhodd directly and you have a second choice for a party. And for the first time in the history of the Green Party, a member of this party was voted directly to the parliament.
His name is Hans Christian Stroebele, he is a left winged pacifist activist and was working as a lawyer for Andreas Baader, one of the head of the german RAF (terror group) when he was in prison at Stuttgart Stammheim. He got around 30 percent of the people here, voting for him. by zebu kluth, berlin

In Germany you don’t hear a lot from the President but today he was in the news in front of a notebook. He opened a new net presentation of Germany - www.deutschland.de - in five languages.
Sorry, I am sure mandarin is not one of the choosen languages. But I can not proof it tonight, despite the tv-news under the newly announced address they said, we still working to finish DEUTSCHLAND.de.

By the way the name of our President is Mr. Johannes Rau. We call him Brother Johannes, because he liked it to argue from the viewpoint of a active protestant Christian. That is not common for German politicians.

MUTATION NEWSLETTER NO.1/ Pre-launch ...
Dear friends and supporters of the MUTATION PROJECT!

Finally –sorry for the delay- Lubricat is proudly pre-launching the MUTATION WORKSPACE in co-operation with our first sponsor, the media communication agency "TPA - the Tricky People Association" from Berlin.

Being one of the first collaborators of MUTATION, we kindly ask you to please log in and test it!
We hope you will be comfortable using it and will appreciate any comments or critics by our first users!

Within the next months you are all invited to promote the MUTATION project in your respective cities on an informal level in order to recruit dedicated people as active co-workers on the workspace and there with start the global dialogue.

Hopefully - and depending on your level of activity - we will be able to start a first media release on the project by the end of November 2002.

We want to acknowledge our deep gratitude to Mrs. Adrienne Goehler, Head of the Capital Culture Fond (Hauptstadtkulturfonds) and the committee for the substantial grant with which they will support MUTATION.
A grateful "welcome!" as well to the Goethe Institute / Inter Nations in Lagos and Shanghai, who already became project partners. Thank you.

The time for paperwork on our concept is over. Looking forward, we should go for the next goal which is a lively running WORKSPACE. Worldwide collection of exciting content and discussion on the matters will be the best promotion for the project.

Although having successfully raised funds, involved a co-producer and currently preparing a kick-off media-release by the end of November, we have to move forward fast ... even if the "real life" productions of MUTATION might seem to be far away to some of you (end of 2003 through 2004).

With the German federal grant we will receive from the Capital Culture Fond Berlin a basic financing is secured- but it will not cover all costs of the project as far as the actual productions are concerned.

No worries, we started very well, we are working on it daily with increased speed and dedication, but we will need all your help and contacts for local support, personnel and logistics.

ACCESS TO WORKSPACE:

We provide 3 different levels of access to the WORKSPACE:
