16/10/2002 Wednesday breakfast @ Dirks Breakfast Bar
Today Dirk, Pierre and me had our Wednesday breakfast again at Dirks flat. Which is very nice because Dirk is a good breakfast cook and so we have an extra egg everytime. And today Pierre brought some oranges and we had fresh orange juice...
But this is not, what I wanted to tell to everybody.
We decided to ask everyone with a full account who is already here on the platform to write his personal article in the PEOPLE section, please.
In the next weeks we thought, it would be great, if we all together start asking certain special things about our cities and the way we live there. Easy things like the question about what products are in the first 2 meters on the left side, when we enter the supermarket where we buy most of our things... One question per week and everyone has the right to question something.
Another news is, that we now have the text ready for the little give away card, we want to produce for everyone of you, that will help promoting this platform. The first design by Ralf you see on the right side. We now only have the problem, that we also want to have the text on it in chinese and we have to check this with our friends at BizArt in Shanghai, the translation and how we can print chinese letters here in Berlin.
And this is to all of you who are spanish or english native speakers... can you read lines following and correct them please? (Its the text for the give-away-half-size-postcard.
World=City is a base formula for the global turn. With the international internet- and theatre project MUTATION (2003-04), we open a dialog on globalization and the life in the cities of the new urbanen civilization on the Mutation WORKSPACE.de. PLEASE JOIN US!
ATTENTION this might be a complete stupid text, since its just made with my computer and I don't speak any Spanish:
World=City es un fórmula bajo para la vuelta global. Con la MUTACIÓN internacional del Internet y del proyecto del teatro (2003-04), abrimos un diálogo en el globalization y la vida en las ciudades del nuevo urbanen la civilización en la mutación WORKSPACE.de. ¡CENSAMBLE POR FAVOR LOS E.E.U.U.!

15/10/2002 what defines your city?
I was at a scratch night last night - where theatre artists can try out their work in progress on a live, non paying audience. The final act was a piece involved everyone writing one impression of London down on a piece of paper. The results were read out as though they were a film script. The three defining features, which seemed appear again and again in these immediate impressions were: buses, pigeons, vomit. What would the three defining images of your city be for you? Would they correspond to the impressions generated by a room full of people (there were about 60 of us) all asked without forewarning to note down and impression.
Is what is important to you about your city important to the other people in that city?
